Donald Glover, the talented musician and actor known for creating “Atlanta,” has had to cancel the rest of Childish Gambino’s North American and European tour.
The decision comes after Glover revealed on Friday that he has recently encountered a health issue that requires surgery. Following his performance in New Orleans on September 7, he visited a hospital for further evaluation, leading to the cancellation of a show in Houston the next evening. Although Glover shared this information, he did not provide specific details about his health condition on his post via X.
“My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously,” Glover expressed in his message.
This tour, dubbed “The New World Tour,” marked Childish Gambino’s first tour since 2019. It kicked off on August 11 in Oklahoma City and was planned to cover several major cities across North America before moving on to Europe, the U.K., New Zealand, and Australia, continuing into early 2025.
The cancellation impacts over 30 upcoming performances across North America, the U.K., and Europe. Glover ensured fans that all ticket purchases would be refunded.
“I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform,” he added. “Until then, thanks for your love, privacy, and support during this time.”
