Nikki Haley, the former Republican presidential candidate and U.N. ambassador, is set to debut her own radio talk show on SiriusXM next week. This program will air weekly, at least until the inauguration of the new president, providing listeners with insights into politics, interviews, and listener engagement.
The show will be broadcast on Wednesdays from 8 to 9 a.m. ET on SiriusXM’s Triumph channel. In addition to political discussions, Haley plans to share her interests in Clemson football, her passion for running, and her love of music, with mentions of artists like Taylor Swift potentially included.
Haley has expressed her intention to depart from the typical tribalism prevalent in media. She recounted a conversation with her children, who avoid the news because they believe both political sides are extreme. “I think we have to take the craziness out. I think we have to take the noise out and I think we have to break things down in a way that people feel empowered,” she shared.
As the last contender against former President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination earlier this year, Haley endorsed him and showcased her support during the convention. Recently, Trump’s team connected with her to explore opportunities for joint appearances on the campaign trail, although nothing is confirmed yet. Importantly, Haley clarified that her show won’t be focused on advocating for any specific candidate.
Despite being approached by some partisan news outlets for potential collaborations, she declined their offers. While she did not specify which outlets contacted her, she acknowledged that her experience with the campaign highlighted how the media can be biased and predictable. “I think that’s what Americans are tired of,” Haley noted, emphasizing a desire to prioritize discussing issues that directly impact families, rather than political affiliations.
Haley is open to extending her show beyond January if it resonates well with listeners. When asked whether this venture could influence her political future, she remarked, “I’m not thinking politics at this point. I’m thinking about what would be fun for me.” Along with announcing her new show, Haley’s supporters and donors received an invitation to subscribe to a mailing list and contribute to her political action committee.
