Former Olympic snowboarder and accomplished skateboarder Shaun White is set to marry actress Nina Dobrev.
White’s publicist, Jennifer Peros, confirmed the engagement on Wednesday.
The proposal took place last weekend at The Golden Swan, a well-known restaurant in New York City, where White presented Dobrev with an impressive five-carat diamond ring.
To orchestrate the surprise, Peros created a fictional dinner invitation involving fashion icon Anna Wintour, leading Dobrev to believe it was a casual gathering. Upon arrival, she found White waiting for her, accompanied by a photographer to capture the special moment. After the proposal, the couple celebrated with friends.
Shaun White, who became a professional skateboarder at a young age, has an impressive career that includes multiple victories at the X Games in both skateboarding and snowboarding. He is a three-time Olympic gold medalist in half-pipe snowboarding and holds the record for the most gold medals won by any snowboarder. White officially retired from competitive snowboarding after the 2022 Olympics.
Nina Dobrev is widely recognized for her iconic role as Elena Gilbert on the popular TV series “The Vampire Diaries,” which significantly boosted her career in Hollywood.
The couple first crossed paths at a Tony Robbins event in 2019 and have been together for five years. This engagement marks the first marriage for both individuals.
