Stephen Curry has officially signed a one-year contract extension with the Golden State Warriors that covers the 2026-27 season. This deal will see him earn nearly $63 million, adding to his impressive career earnings as the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers and an Olympic gold medalist.
The Warriors announced this new contract on Thursday, and ESPN was the first to report the news. Curry’s agent, Jeff Austin from Octagon, confirmed the signing to The Associated Press.
With this extension, Curry is now set to receive around $178 million over the next three years. This includes approximately $55.8 million for the current season, about $59.6 million for the 2025-26 season, and, under league rules, $62.6 million for the 2026-27 season, which is the maximum amount the Warriors are allowed to offer him.
By the end of the 2026-27 season, Curry’s total earnings from playing in the NBA will be around $532 million. This figure currently makes him the second-highest-paid player in league history, following LeBron James, who has earned $580 million from contracts.
At 36 years old, Curry is about to begin his 16th season in the NBA, and he has spent all those years with the Warriors. He is a 10-time All-Star and has been named to the All-NBA team ten times. Curry has played a key role in helping the Warriors win four championships and has earned the MVP award twice. Additionally, this past summer, he represented the United States at the Paris Olympics, contributing to the team’s success, especially with an impressive performance in the final game against France.
During the previous season, Curry averaged 26.4 points per game for the Warriors. His overall career average in the regular season is 24.8 points per game.
