KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — On Monday night, Taylor Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs as they faced off against the New Orleans Saints. This marked Swift’s return after missing the team’s last two away games.
Currently, Swift is nearing the end of a break from her groundbreaking Eras Tour, which is set to kick off again with three concerts starting this Friday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Following Miami, the tour will make stops in New Orleans and Indianapolis before wrapping up in Toronto and Vancouver in November and December, with the grand finale scheduled for December 8.
Over the weekend, Swift also missed her boyfriend’s annual charity event, the Kelce Car Jam, which raises funds for his 87 and Running foundation dedicated to assisting underserved youth in Kansas City and Cleveland. However, the event still attracted significant attention, featuring notable attendees such as Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, along with Kelce’s family and his brother, Jason Kelce, a retired center for the Eagles.
Swift and Kelce’s romance began last season when he invited her to watch a game against the Chicago Bears in September. Since then, the couple has been spotted together frequently, often under the media’s watchful eye.
In recent weeks, Swift has opted for a quieter presence after a whirlwind of events that included endorsing Kamala Harris for president, winning seven awards at the MTV Video Music Awards, and attending a game where the Chiefs triumphed over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Taylor’s relationship with the Mahomes family has blossomed over the past year. Yet, her political endorsement stirred some discussions, particularly when she publicly supported Harris over Donald Trump for the upcoming election. This issue drew attention after Trump made comments regarding Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, following her interactions with an Instagram post from the Republican nominee.
Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes has chosen to remain neutral in the election, encouraging fans to participate in the voting process without endorsing any specific candidate. “I don’t want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate,” Mahomes stated. “It’s important to inform people to register to vote, do their own research, and then make a decision that’s best for them and their families.”
