Over a Million Oven Gloves Recalled Following Reports of 92 Minor Burn Incidents

NEW YORK (AP) — Over a million pairs of oven gloves are being recalled due to safety concerns following multiple reports of burn injuries.

QVC, a prominent video and online shopping retailer, is recalling approximately 1.1 million of its “Temp-tations Oven Gloves.” The recall was initiated because these gloves do not offer adequate protection against heat. As noted in a Thursday announcement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, QVC has logged 162 incidents where users experienced insufficient heat protection, resulting in 92 cases of minor burns.

The oven gloves were available for purchase on qvc.com, as well as through QVC’s TV and online shopping platforms, from August 2018 until August 2024, priced between $4 and $13 per pair.

These gloves are sold in various colors and designs, and are either sold individually or in sets. Inside the gloves, you will find a label that reads “Temp-tations by Tara.” The recalled gloves are also identifiable by their specific model numbers: K51459, K76398, K47973, K48879, K85322, K96004, K92603, K308719, K309220, K309388, and K309516.

Consumers who have these gloves should immediately stop using them and reach out to QVC for a refund. Additional details about the recall can be found on the online registration page for the recall.
