LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dave Grohl has announced that he recently welcomed a baby daughter outside of his long-term marriage to Jordyn Blum. The couple has three older daughters together.
In an Instagram post made on Tuesday, the frontman of Foo Fighters and former drummer of Nirvana shared, “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I intend to be a loving and supportive parent to her.” He continued, “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this situation with all of the children involved.” You can see the post here.
At 55 years old, Grohl chose not to disclose further information about the new baby or her mother, and his representatives have opted not to comment beyond his social media statement.
Dave Grohl married Jordyn Blum, a former model who has transitioned into film and television producing, in 2003. Together, they have three daughters: 18-year-old Violet, who is a singer, alongside their 15-year-old and 10-year-old daughters.
Prior to marrying Blum, Grohl was married to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 to 1997. He has openly acknowledged that infidelity was a factor that contributed to their divorce.
Grohl formed the Foo Fighters in 1994, right after the death of Kurt Cobain, which marked the end of Nirvana. The music world was also shaken in 2022 when Taylor Hawkins, the longtime drummer of Foo Fighters and Grohl’s closest friend, passed away while the band was on tour in South America.
