Former My Chemical Romance Percussionist Bob Bryar Passes Away at 44

Bob Bryar, who was the drummer for My Chemical Romance during their iconic rock opera, “The Black Parade,” has sadly passed away at the age of 44, as confirmed by the band.

In a statement released on Sunday, a spokesperson for My Chemical Romance expressed, “The band asks for your patience and understanding as they come to terms with the news of Bob’s passing.”

Details regarding the circumstances of Bryar’s death were not provided in the statement.

Joining the band in 2004, Bryar took over from former drummer Matt Pelissier and remained with My Chemical Romance until his departure in 2010. After stepping away from the music industry, he notably auctioned off his drum set to raise funds for an animal adoption center in Williamson County, Tennessee.

Looking ahead, My Chemical Romance is set to embark on a 10-date stadium tour across North America next year, where they will perform “The Black Parade,” which debuted in 2006, in its entirety.

The band, formed in 2001, gained immense popularity with their 2004 album “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge,” ultimately releasing four studio albums throughout their career. Following their breakup in 2013, they released a greatest hits anthology titled “May Death Never Stop You” a year later. In 2019, they announced their reunion, revealing they had privately reconciled two years earlier.
