LOS ANGELES (AP) — James Kennedy, known for his role on “Vanderpump Rules,” is actively seeking to make significant changes in his life following an arrest on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence. The incident reportedly involved him throwing his girlfriend to the ground.
In his first public statement since the arrest, Kennedy shared his commitment to focusing on sobriety and personal growth. “I am dedicated to making meaningful changes in my life,” he wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. “I am taking time to concentrate on being present for my loved ones and navigating these challenging moments.”
The domestic violence allegations surfaced late on December 10, when police responded to reports of a dispute between a man and a woman at a residence in Burbank, near Los Angeles. According to police records, the woman informed the officers that her boyfriend had lifted her and thrown her down. While authorities have not officially named the woman involved, Kennedy is currently in a relationship with his “Vanderpump Rules” co-star, Ally Lewber.
The 32-year-old star, whose legal name is James Kennedy Georgiou, was taken into custody and subsequently released after posting bail. The decision on whether charges will be filed against him rests with the Burbank city attorney; as of now, there has been no response regarding the status of such charges.
On Saturday, Lewber also addressed the situation on her Instagram, expressing gratitude for the support she has received. “Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me. I’m okay and taking the time I need right now,” she wrote.
Kennedy, a London-born reality TV star and DJ, has been featured in all ten seasons of “Vanderpump Rules,” a Bravo and Peacock series that chronicles the lives of employees at the upscale establishments owned by Lisa Vanderpump, a former cast member of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” The show is anticipated to be revamped with a fresh cast in its upcoming 12th season.
