World Series Game 4 Draws 16.28 Million Viewers, Highest Since 2019

LOS ANGELES (AP) — On Tuesday night, the New York Yankees secured a crucial win against the Los Angeles Dodgers, avoiding a sweep in the World Series. The Yankees triumphed with an impressive score of 11-4 in Game 4, which marked the most-watched game of the Fall Classic in the past five years.

This exciting matchup attracted an average of 16.28 million viewers across Fox, Fox Deportes, and streaming platforms, as reported by Nielsen. This figure represents a significant increase compared to last year’s Game 4, which saw only 8.48 million viewers. It’s also the highest number recorded for a Game 4 since the thrilling 2016 series between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians, which averaged 16.71 million viewers.

Fox is optimistic about a similar viewership spike for the upcoming fifth game, recalling that the audience increased by seven million viewers in 2015, reaching 23.64 million.

During Tuesday’s game, viewership peaked at 18.22 million between 10:00 and 10:15 p.m. EDT. Overall, the World Series is averaging 14.98 million viewers after four games, making it the highest average in seven years.

In terms of ratings, Tuesday’s game achieved a 19.7 rating and a 54 share in Los Angeles, while in New York, it garnered a 12.8 rating and a 33 share. Ratings indicate the percentage of television households tuned in, while share reflects the percentage of viewers watching at the same time.
